This really is confusing. Since Wallace is the were-rabbit, the question is whether this is a dream or a nightmare that he is choking himself and Gromit?
After consuming a great deal of cheese and meticulous research I have developed a few plausible theories that might explain the conundrum:

1. This is a distortion of truth perpetrated by the artist after suffering an over-consumption of very, very strong cheese!
2. Wallace is trying to convince Totty into thinking he was just a poor victim all along, gaining even more sympathy so he can get free tickets into her Bun sanctuary!
3. Wallace invented a new 'super were-rabbit' to test and perfect his secretly developed and yet-to-be-released BunVac 6001 (The BV 6001 is patent pending).
4. This is actually a portrait, commissioned by Wallace as a gift to Lady Tottingham to show he could never have ravaged her luscious . . . (fruit and veg?)
5. It's a frame from a soon-to-be-released Gromit self-defense, fitness and flying self-instruction DVD.
6. The were-rabbit is actually a cheese-induced hallucination who is giving both Wallace and Gromit a slightly over-enthusiastic hug.
7. This is a commemorative image stamped on the back of all Anti-Pesto invoices to remind all veg growing customers that they only averted disaster by a hare</>
8. It's a picture of the cover of Gromit's new autobiographical book entitled "To marrow I shall win The Golden Carrot".

Any other ideas?

Haha, quite a conundrum you present there XD I did consider that Wallace was the WereRabbit, but then I wanted to include both characters so...naaaaah to logic, I say....NAAAAAH XD
